Student Chapter of Abhinav HiTech College of Engineering

The CSI student chapter of Abhinav Hitech College of engineering is started in the semester for the academic year 2012-13 with an impressive strength of 100+ students from CSE and IT departments.

The Computer Society of India

Formed in 1965, the CSI has been instrumental in guiding the Indian IT industry down the right path since its formative years. Today, the CSI has 71 chapters all over India, 418 student branches, and more than 90,000 members, including India‚Äôs most famous IT industry leaders, brilliant scientists and dedicated academicians. Now, you have the opportunity to be a part of this distinguished fraternity too.

The mission of the CSI is to facilitate research, knowledge sharing, learning and career enhancement for all categories of IT professionals, while simultaneously inspiring and nurturing new entrants into the industry and helping them to integrate into the IT community. The CSI is also working closely with other industry associations, government bodies and academia to ensure that the benefits of IT advancement ultimately percolate down to every single citizen of India.

Membership

The Society is targeted at the user community at large. Hence the membership of the Society is open to all professionals involved in the field of information technology.

         The membership categories include Individual and Institutional. In the Individual member category there are five grades namely Fellow, Senior, Member, Associate and Student, whereas Institutional membership includes organisations and educational institutions. A professional can also apply for life membership in the Society.

         Normally, a professional joins the Society as an Associate member and upgrades himself to Senior Member grade over a period of time. The Fellowship is awarded to life members of the Society based on their contribution to the Society. The honorary Fellowship is given to non-members in recognition of their contributions to the promotion of IT. 

 Student Membership

The following are eligible or Student Membership

  • Those who pass 10+2 academic program and are enrolled for a degree course either full time or part time at accredited educational institutions and carrying at least 30% of a  normal full time academic program in areas of interest to CSI

  • Those who successfully complete matriculation/secondary education/SSC/SSLC/10th class academic program and are doing diploma courses approved by State Directorate of Technical Education

  • Those who successfully complete matriculation/secondary education/SSC/SSLC/10th class academic program and are studying in an approved higher secondary school or doing a course in a non-formal institution

  • Those graduates doing a course in areas of interest common to the CSI

  • Those who are student members of any technical or scientific society with interest common to CSI
